This week, I have been hosting a challenge online and have been connecting with some amazing women.
These women have been totally honest with me and have shared their biggest secrets on why they are not yet living a life they love.
And it has shocked me that the one word that keeps coming up is fear.
Most people know what they’re scared of.
Most people know that fear is a mechanism that has kept the human race alive.
But yet, most people never challenge their fear.
They accept it and let it limit them to the point where they die before having ever lived (sad, but true).
Personally, I am in a place at this point in time, where I am truly living my dream life.
I work hard, and I still have goals that I want to reach, but I am enjoying the journey so much.
So what makes me different?
Am I lucky to have been born without fear? No.
Am I lucky to have had a clear and well-defined path in front of me? No.
Am I lucky to have things constantly magically fall into place? No.
What makes me different is, that I feel scared, but I act any way.
Was I scared to quit my job with no plan B?
Was I scared that I was possibly making my life’s biggest mistake?
Was I worried that I would miss my family too much when I moved to a new country & city I had never visited before?
Was I scared to start a business online?
Was I scared of putting myself out there for the world to judge?
Was I scared to fly off to the other side of the planet alone and with no return ticket at the beginning of this year?
Have I been scared of reaching out to people who have the power to make me feel rejected?
Have I been afraid of hosting webinars knowing that 0 people might show up to something I’ve spent hours on creating?
So, why am I being this transparent with you?
I am showing you that fear doesn’t have to stop you.
It’s always going to be there, and your job is to feel it, but push through it.
I have felt SO uncomfortable many times in the past 2 years, and I still do on a weekly basis.
I was just telling a friend yesterday, that I sometimes wish I could take a break from feeling nervous and terrified (true story).
But would that make me happier?
And staying in your safe space is not making you happier either.
Because you’re not making the difference that you want to make in this world, and you know it.
Feeling scared and uncomfortable is a sign that you are growing and that you are becoming the person you were destined to become.
In the past 2 years, I have made big and challenging decisions.
And every time, I have been scared to death.
But I have taken action anyway.
And you can too.
So my question to you today is this:
What are you procrastinating on or not taking action on right now?
What is fear sabotaging for you?
And what could you do today to take a small step forward even if you feel terrified?
Think about it. And then take action.
It’s the only option.
PS: Oh, and if you like reflecting on life in coffee shops, I have created this Coffee Break Kit just for you. It includes an 18-page workbook and printable worksheets. It’s free and you can download it here.
