This is the honest story on how I found my passion (+ a gift at the end of the post to help you on your own journey.)
Growing up, I moved back and forth between 3 different countries and went to 13 different schools.
I had my one-sentence bio ready to deliver at any time as a result of having to introduce myself so many times.
When I graduated with my Master’s degree, it was the first time in my life where I finally felt like I was the one responsible for my next chapter.
But I didn’t feel excited about it. Actually, I felt lost and I had no idea what to do with my life.
After all those years in school and with no particular connection to the city I was living in, now what?
All my friends were settling and getting into corporate jobs, so I did too.
But after some time, the inexplicable feeling of not being where I was supposed to be, was overruling everything.
I felt depressed. Hopeless.
But I had NO alternative in mind, and it made me feel even worse. I felt ungrateful and spoiled. Why couldn’t I just feel privileged?
I had a safe job and more than most of this world’s population. And yet, it wasn’t enough.
But then, I realised this.
I actually had no interest in climbing up the corporate ladder.
I had no interest in staying stuck somewhere I didn’t fit in and where I wasn’t making the difference that I truly wanted to make in my life. I felt like I was wasting my life away.
So I took a decision once and for all.
Success to me was happiness, achievements and enjoyment EVERY day. Not only on weekends or during my so-called vacations.
What I needed was:
a) a complete change of scenery
b) to explore the entrepreneur in me who couldn’t have anyone or any rule dictate her life anymore
And I made a big decision: I quit my safe job, I packed up what I could fit in a suitcase, I sold and gave away the rest to charity, and I flew one-way to sunny Spain.
I had absolutely. No. Plan. B.
I just knew that I needed to listen to myself again – without all the noise.
The sun and the relaxed culture had a great effect on me. For the first time in my life, I felt HAPPY.
I gave myself 4 weeks to do nothing but to read/watch every inspiring thing I could find and reflect on my life at cute coffee shops.
For the first time ever, I was asking myself the important questions: who am I? what do I want? what makes me truly happy?
It was a scary process, but I knew it was necessary. I knew that I had never taken the time to get to know myself and that now was the time to change my life around.
To understand who I was when no one else was around.
I could tell you about my reflections for hours, but there is one thing that you need to know right now.
Because I realised that what would give my life purpose was to start helping other people through the same process as the one I had just been through.
To help others define their own, exciting path in life.
At their own pace, through their own journey.
So if you’re in a similar place in life, where you are waiting for your calling or you are searching for your true passion, I can tell you that there is hope.
And you don’t have to leave everything behind, quit your job and move to a different country.
You can stay right where you are, and start taking small steps towards a better life.
Because you don’t have to settle. You really don’t.
YOU define your own criteria for success.
And my mission is to help you find the strength, the courage and the tools to create the life that is best for you.
So if you’re up for it, I have an offer for you.
